Was at The Hydro in Glasgow tonight to see the band elbow. Due to the snow disruption last week, their concert had been postponed from Friday; luckily the band had a day’s gap in their touring schedule when they could come back (slotting in between concerts in Manchester and Leeds), and the venue was available (they mentioned that arenas usually have to be booked about 18 months in advance to secure required dates).

It was a really excellent concert – the sublime voice of Guy Garvey can do very little wrong, and he had the audience in the palm of his hand.

A special mention also to support act John Grant. I’d only previously been aware of a couple of his own songs, plus a duet he did with elbow last year. Another great voice – I’ll be seeking out more of his music.
