Spring awakening
After all the cold weather and snow last week the plants are starting to awaken to spring. I saw these tiny little blossoms just beginning to bud when I was out walking Murdoch today. We had a good walk in bright skies and although there was a bit of rain it was a lovely day.
The rest of the week is quite busy - I have another arts society event in London tomorrow and again on Thursday, but thankfully it is not as cold as last week was. I have been dealing with some last minute cancellations and trying to reallocate tickets for tomorrow's event, its always the case that this happens just before an event.
Tomorrow night we have our camera group meeting and we are having a practical session whereby we are photographing food. The school caterer was going to cook for us but that did not work out in the end so we are all bringing various food items - so today I bought some puddings and a lemon meringue tart to photograph, and others are bringing canapes and cheese and wine. It has to be something that is easy to transport and will work out fine being photographed in the school art room, we do not have access to a kitchen, so no hot food.
I chatted to Adam today. He has no lectures at the moment due to the strike by the lecturers over their pension. He says there has been some talk about the students needing to show solidarity by striking with their lecturers but quite honestly at fees of £9250 per annum I really don't think the students should be at a disadvantage with no lectures, and what will happen with the exams coming up in May/June? Will that part of the syllabus that has not been covered be excluded from the exams or will this just prevent students from getting top grades this year? If anything they should be thinking about refunding fees paid for the lack of lectures.
