The Red Lion Bowls Team. 1977

The gentleman (and he was) in the middle of the front row was a neighbour of mine. He was born in 1909 and worked with my father who was born the same year. (They didn't get on). The reason for the photo is that the pub has been taken over and is bound to be refurbished. It is possible that the photographs in the bowls room may survive, but unlikely.
I 'got on' fine with Joe and his son. We bought this house off his brother and we have been here since 1977, the year that the Red Lion team won the Stan Bann cup.
