Juvenile tui
A juvenile tui looking for berries on the totara tree at the bottom of our drive this afternoon. I've never seen a young one before - the white is much more than a bunch of feathers on the throat, it's more like a complete shawl around the neck.
So D left last night for 3 weeks in Cleveland, and glad to see she has just arrived safely. It's a long haul and she'll be tired. Only 3 degrees there at the moment, and snow in the forecast for tomorrow. I think I know where I'd rather be. My turn (and hers again) later in the year when it will be much warmer.
