The village churchyard
A day of shopping and mundane stuff so I went for a walk around the village to get a blip. There has been some lovely late afternoon sun which always enhances outdoor photography. My blip is of part of the village churchyard with the old manor house in the background.
I saw a ladybird in my bathroom this morning which must have woken up from hibernation. Shortly afterwards it had disappeared so hope that it had gone back to sleep as it's a bit early and cold for it to be out and about.
The meeting to set up a local curlew and lapwing conservation group meeting was very well attended - it was standing room only by the time it started.
It was dreadful to hear how much our birds have declined over the years so fingers crossed that we can stem the decline. Lots of us volunteered to do surveys of the hot spot areas and will be receiving training later in the month. We hope to get farmers on board too as their land use is crucial to the project.
