Monrovia 2006

Liberia was just emerging from a brutal civil war when I first went there in 2006. In the ruins of the national museum a few paintings still hung slashed and full of bullet holes. The custodian was trying to protect what was left and also sell these pen and ink drawings for his own survival. I bought two and 12 years later have finally framed them.

Goodish news on Tom - no immediate need for surgery. His shoulder is still too swollen to see any tear, but for now he's on physio only. He actually slept last night so was in much better spirits today.
