Checking out our chimney

We've had so much rain and we noticed that the bricks around the fireplace were showing damp patches. So we went up to the roof to check nothing was obviously amiss with the chimney, but we couldn't see anything and assume it is just because there was an unprecedented amount of heavy rain.
