Happy As Pigs In ...
Mud.
I drive past these pigs almost daily and have been meaning to stop for a blip for weeks. I'm not sure who they belong to but, judging from the notices, begging people not to feed the pigs, they have become quite an attraction.
As soon as they saw me, they ran squealing towards the fence in anticipation of something to eat and a good scratch behind the ears!
I had to wait for them to retreat, in disgust for my lack of offerings, to take this.
A man appeared with his iphone and commented that seeing me there, with my camera, made him feel a little less silly for turning his car around and coming back to take a pic.
I love to see free range pigs. The ground is saturated and they've made a good job of ploughing the field with their snouts as they search for tit bits in the soil.
There are a couple of sows with their litters and also the boar in the field. They all look very happy and the boar is obviously eager to start a new family very soon! The mist hasn't risen much at all for the past two days and I thought it added a little atmosphere to the Autumnal back ground.
Very busy again with Peter back home and needing more attention than before. I'm going to need assistance next week when social services stop sending in their contribution and putting things in place is time consuming.
I hope to be back an commenting again in the next couple of days.
Thank you all for your kindness for Irene. I'm very sad, but happy that she reached a fantastic age, had a wonderful life, was still in most of her faculties and her end was swift. The family are holding her service in the church here in Westcott. I know it will be very well attended.
