I spent this morning with a merry band of people as we were cutting back the willow which was invading this wild area and restricting views from the bird hide. We saw 3 Jack snipe. A very jittery bird that just took off suddenly.
And - - the most important thing - - it was warm! I had almost forgotten how you could go out without a coat!
