Reflections in the North Tyne
We've had a bit of a day.
Ian was coming first thing to fit a new piece of battening for the curtain in Mum's lounge. (When I was in Myanmar, the old curtain rail failed; a new one was purchased and fitted by Annette, but the curtains now trail on the carpet.) He called but had to come later than planned.
Very straightforward as jobs go..........
The new battening is above the old and there must be a metal lintel over the sliding door. Much drilling and no progress.
Ian then went away to buy a piece of 4 x 1" wood, but he didn't return until mid afternoon.
I'd hoped to take Mum to the Woman's World Day of Prayer in Haydon Bridge.
Oscar was totally freaked out and hid without trace for several hours.
We decided to abandon the job mid afternoon. Now I have to hang the curtains again and we'll wait before attempting it again.
I finally went for a walk. I called at Pat and Bob's because Bob has a new printer and its not connecting. Well that would be easy peasy to sort out! Humph! I shut down his laptop to start again, having discovered he was trying to make a wifi connection whilst having a cable connected (this machine doesn't like that apparently). The computer decided it needed multiple upgrades.
I went for a walk by the river while it did that. It was sunny and the reflections were beautiful. I chose this one because it is almost abstract.
Back at Bob's, I downloaded the updated drivers for the printer. Now I could make both a wifi and a cable connection at the same time. Finally success!
PS Oscar has now emerged and eaten, so can't be too traumatised. I have the curtains left to rehang. Oh joy!
