Teeming down
No camera action today. It has been teeming down all day. My only light relief (!) has consisted of donning my mac and dashing to and from the laundry room.
Anyway, here's a naughty extra one from yesterday. The Pigeon course from the tasting menu at The Cellar.
One of the reasons that we like tasting menus is that it forces us out of our comfort zone and makes us try dishes we would not normally consider eating... such as Pigeon. So far this week we have added several items to the "Being Brave" list: Fresh Oyster, Caviar (twice), Beef Tartare, Ox Tongue, Pigeon, Arbroath Smokie... some items we will have again, others we remain unsure of but it is proving to be fun to be brave. My bravest act so far though has to be the gizzards that I ate in Saumur!
Looking forwards now to being back in France. Maybe there will be more gizzards in my future.
Going downmarket a bit today though. Instead of walking out in the rain to eat at a local pub we are going to have a Chinese Takeaway delivered to our van. We all have to come back down to earth at some point :-)
