Life through the lens...

A Great Garden of Cornwall.

By 10 o clock the sun had come out again, and it has been a glorious day.
Temp. 15 C . Glad I brought mty sunglasses and factor 50 sun cream.
Morning visit to Tremenheere sculpture garden. One of the Great Gardens of Cornwall.
We enjoyed it as always, but it was so sad to see many of the plants destroyed by last weeks storms. I'm not sure some will ever recover.
The collage shows some of the sculptures, and plants which are in flower at the moment.
You can see what has happened to the banana palms. Looks completely dead.
However the yellow mimosa was looking beautiful, and I even spotted a ladybird. Also a bumble bee on some heather.
This is not your usual Cornish garden. It is planted with more exotic flowers, many from South Africa, and these are the ones that have suffered most.
This is how it looked in 2016 Blip

This was followed lovely walk along the beach in Marazion.
Sat on a bench in the sun,  overlooking St Michael's Mount and watching the birds and kite surfers.
Then back for tea and biscuits, followed by a walk down memory lane. Visiting places we know from when my Mum and Dad lived down here.

Back here, and Mr C is watching the rugby and getting VERY frustrated!
Will have to top up the wine glass to calm him down.
I'm off to cook tea.  Oak smoked haddock , on a bed of leeks and potatoes, topped with a poached egg.
Carol has just popped round with a home made cream tea.
Not sure if we will manage that as well!
Glad we are not on a diet.
