Auckland

A conversation with a local on the bus into town revealed that the Round the World yacht race was resting for a week in Auckland. Blip of resting yachts taken in the harbour.  At least we have timed one sporting event correctly- the cricket is on the South Island this week.  Took the ferry to the North shore, climbed a few hills and watched the yachts inshore racing from top of North Head. Took a bus to Mount Eden on the recommendation of Corvid Fiesta. Highest point in Auckland with a spectacular crater- extra. Well worth the walk, thanks C. As for the cricket, so many locals are just sitting  in the shade listening to their radios Mr P was able to easily keep up with the score and chat with the locals.
