Finally combined good light, the right time and a decent lens to find the number of our local Mediterranean Gull!
I sent a photo to the people in charge of the "white, left leg, 4-number alphanumeric Med gull" project, who emailed back with the info that this bird (a female) had been ringed in Denmark in 2011 as a chick. It seems she has been spotted in Fife in previous winters, and goes to Poland and the Czech republic to breed.
Keep an eye out (she's also known to frequent Inverleith Park, so obviously a fan of football pitches!)
