The "She"
Other than running out to fill the water dishes and hanging some sweet stuff, I haven't spent any considerable time outside. My asthma hasn't been very cooperative. This morning, though, I stayed out for a few minutes after my bird duties.
Standing to the side of the Texas ranger, I was hoping to get a shot of a Verdin among the branches. I did see one but couldn't find it in the bush through the lens. Then I saw this little hummingbird (is that redundant?) perched inside. I couldn't get a decent focus but she was very accommodating, hopping to the tip o' the branch for me.
This is female Costa's hummingbird; Mrs. Zippy, if you prefer. Notice how different she is from Zippy.
