Puke
Is the country’s oldest working steamboat. Puke towed giant kauri logs on the Kaipara Harbour in the late 19th century. Restored now and working for the New Zealand Martime Museum transporting passengers along Auckland’s waterfront.
We are now at the refurbished Grand Windsor Hotel in Queen Street having had lunch at the Harbourside near the Viaduct.
Cyclone Hola nowhere in sight although it was raining lightly as we walked to our hotel.
