Red rose

Tried to rescue the roses. Trimed their ends and put them in boiling water up to their necks. Who would ever lift their heads if that was done to us? It didn't work. This was about the last remaining upright flower in the vase. I don't think it resembles the red rose spoken/sung about in Rabbie's poem.
Actually dried red roses are rather nice.
