Pentland Hills

This is a walk I know well, but I'm not sure which the two hills in the middle of this photo are - they could be East Kip and West Kip. In the foreground is Threipmuir Reservoir, still mostly frozen over. There was a lot of snow in some places and none in others, and often it wasn't easy to tell why. From a miserable start the day improved a lot, so we felt fully justified in going back to bed for a bit after looking out through the curtains.

I heard my first larks ascending today - but didn't see them, as so often happens.
