Reflective

It's been wet and miserable today but l managed to get out for a walk without getting too wet.. l think it was a 'bright interval'.  The river was full to bursting and even this rather overgrown pond was fuller than normal.. and also strangely greeny coloured.. l wonder what caused that colouring.  

We had a small village get together to mark the life of my neighbour.  She requested a no ceremony cremation with no fuss and nobody there.. but the people who knew her needed some closure.. a coming together to remember her and the part she played in the village.  She did a great deal and got very involved in all aspects of the village but latterly had withdrawn completely.  Her estranged brother organised the food and brought wine and eats.  They had not spoken for 30 years.. altogether a sad story.  He came with his wife, daughter and latest grandchild aged just 7 weeks.. it seems so sad that she didn't benefit from this family.. they seemed such kind and lovely people.
