New blue plaque at the station.
Seaford station has a surprisingly long platform for a small town. It was in use in both World Wars for troop movements. Many troops were stationed in camps on the Downs next to Seaford. Newhaven Harbour was also, of course, busy.
Brighton Pavilion was in use as a military hospital during WW1, and there is a memorial on the Downs - the Chattri - near the city, to commemorate the Indian soldiers who gave their lives.
