Horsburgh

I've often gazed at this doorway from the bus stop in West Maitland St and wondered about it - finally remembered to look it up and take a photo on the same day. Apparently John A. Horsburgh was an Edinburgh portrait photographer who had his studio here from 1899 - 1915. Don't know if that design in the wrought iron gate is meant to represent something - a light bulb, perhaps?
