River Esk

Our weekend in the Lakes ended today but not before we took a nostalgic trip over Wrynose and Hardknott Pass to Boot in Eskdale. When the kids were small we enjoyed many holidays in this lovely valley. The weather was murky but it didn't detract the amazing scenery over the passes and we didn't get too wet on the stroll to St Catherines church and along the river.

It seemed a long drive home however on the M6 in the  dark evening rain
