RISK Legacy XV
Last of the RISK Legacy games we are about to play (we may still play in the future, but the leader board is full after this game and Leander (6 wins up to now) will have the right to name this world.
I Started with Die Mechaniker in Scandinavia, Hannes with the Khan Industries in Oeral, Kobe with the Aliens in Alberta, Tarek with the Mutants in Brazil and Leander with the Enclave of the Bear in Southeast Asia.
The first few rounds consisted mainly of Kobe gaining a lot of extra troops due to event cards (alien advantages and greatest population when he took the World Capitol Trumpistan). When he took South America away from Tarek (Tarek was helped a bit by us, using our missiles), the shit hit the fan and Tarek retaliated, after which Leander took over Trumpistan. Hannes broadened his horizons a bit (and even managed to gain a red star token from a mission card because he conquered 3 overseas territories). Leander blew up his own HQ when it was conquered by Hannes, just for the fun of it. I did nothing very much (I took over Iceland, which cost me 3 armies, but due to an event card I lost them again), and decided to gain as much resources as I could, as fast as possible.
All in all nothing much important really happened until the turn I received my 9th resource (Die Mechaniker get an extra when trading in cards), so I was set up to gain 30+ armies in the next round.
Alas, Hannes did one of his great stunts trying to capture my (succeeded) and Kobe's HQ's (did not succeed). Kobe didn't have enough troops to make a move, but Tarek tried to take control of the other HQ's, but failed.
This left the way clear for Leander to make his final move. He gained 30+ troops, but due to the placement of his troops on the board he had to make a roundabout attack, first taking my HQ, then Hannes' HQ and than crossing the ocean to take Kobe's HQ. The Last HQ he had to take (he wistfully thought about his own blown up HQ, but Hannes would have won if he hadn't done this) was Tareks in Brazil. All went well, and he didn't lose all to many troops until he reached Brazil, which was fortified (+1 on all defending dies) and had a bunker (+1 to highest die).
He lost a lot, but in the end won with 3 troops to spare.
I think this was the first game wherein a player took all other players HQ's in a single turn. Alas for me I couldn't do anything with my 30+ troops, if Leander hadn't made it, I would have won, but Leander's victory was well won and a very good way to end this series games.
After some discussion for the name of this world we settled on Unbearable, because he played with the Tribe of the Bear and it's unbearable for us that he has won 7 times.
Leander : 7 wins
Tarek : 3 wins (T before W)
Wim : 3 wins
Hannes : 1 win
Kobe : 1 win
Next time we'll be playing Pandemic Legacy, Season 1
