Flower Friday

Whenever I see daffodils en masse, Wordsworth's poem often comes to mind... however have you ever heard of The New, Fast, Automatic Daffodils, by Adrian Henri ?  I first saw in a poetry book by "The Mersey Poets", [namely Roger McGough, Adrian Henri and Brian Patten] at a book fair at my school.  I liked them because they were funny, and I felt a familial affinity because both my parents were Liverpudlians, even though we lived miles away.

The poem was a "cut-up" of Wordsworth's  Daffodils, plus Dutch car leaflet. The teenage me thought it was wonderful.  I still rather like it!
