Evening clouds
I spent most of the day in the market in Stroud Trade was not brisk, but I finally befriended the trader next to me, who had always been a bit off with me. I let her take a card payment on my machine, and offered a couple of other things, and by mid afternoon she had softened and was seen to browse through my cards. I even got her to place a bet on the Gold Cup! She put a pound on Native River, but when I told her he'd won, she said she wished she'd put on a fiver, and danced up and down the hall in her red lacy tights and red shoes, and the rest of her clothing, which was probably red too!
Hurrah, I've corrupted another person! My total stake was 6 pounds, because I bet on four horses, and my winnings were 7.20, which I don't understand at all because two of my choices actually pulled up and the other one, Might bite, came in second but I'd backed it to win. Good job I don't bet regularly.
Here's the garden-sky when I got home. It might be going to snow again this weekend. Jolly good, I'm back in the market tomorrow, and Steve is co -ordinating a big event tomorrow for Stroud film festival. It's all go here.
Next, I am off to watch Wattstax at the Goods Shed, as part of the film festival. Will it be very cold there? I hope not.
