Stormy day
We awoke this morning to find the lights and electrics flickering badly with each stormy gust of wind.
I got on the phone to ENW and after choosing a few buttons got through to a pleasant young woman. After listening to my problem she asked if anyone was ancient enough to be a priority customer. Since this is 'only' 60 I said yes so she said someone would be out as soon as possible today to fix it. A benefit to old age!
I headed to the shops leaving the aged pensioner at home to look out for the workforce.
To my delight in B&Q they had bags of horse manure! I can't find a roadside supply so this is a bit like gold dust, as it seems to have a very beneficial effect on my roses.
I managed to slide 6 bags into the trolley but it was so heavy I could hardly wheel it along. The nice young man at the till asked if I had a club card, and did I know that over 60s can have 10% discount? I thought this was a funny coincidence and enrolled Rob for one of these too!
The car was groaning under the weight of all the muck but it got home in time to watch the Cheltenham Gold Cup, a neck and neck race all the way.
The engineers then arrived, and switched off the electric so that was good timing.
They spotted a frayed connection by the pole and I took a little photo of man up pole for my Blip, but when I mentioned it to the engineer he said one of his team was sacked because someone Facebooked a photo of him and a H&S regulation was broken. So I reassured him that I wouldn't do anything like that. Hence the shot of Narcissus!
