St Mungo Saturday #2
I decided to move my St Mungo themed day to Saturday. This will tie in with my ongoing research into the St Mungo Way and the guide book that I'll be writing eventually. With Saturday being a day off, it's a good day for both tasks!
Anyway, the photo here is from an old ironstone mine workings on the side of Croy Hill. The workings here date from many years after Mungo passed this way, the oldest record I can find is pre-1800. It would seem that Bonnybridge brick or stone was used in some of the constructions here, but I'm intrigued that these brick are square and not a regular brick shape.
