Next Snow Layer Arriving

After several days of warm and wet weather you can really see the layers in the snow of each previous snowfall. By the way this is a stream bed. The new snow is going to make the avalanche risk really high again. As for the availability of food for the mountain animals ...... today I went to an area where I have often seen chamois in the past; not only were there no chamois, but their food source was completely buried under an avalanche. I hope they were not there when it came down.
