When Icicles Hang By The Wall

Sub-zero temperatures once again and it's snowing well as I write this.

This icicle has 'grown' down a thin cord that has a bird-food ball on its end.Why it has developed this 'sugar-cane' effect I have no idea.

I only went briefly into the garden to take this one pic - I'm still not going out until I get rid of this bronchitis - or until the weather becomes gentle. Thanks very much for all the kind wishes - they are all appreciated.
