i took this after our harrowing walk through the falling snow this morning. i thought it would be a lovely walk for the babe and the dog, but it turned out the snow was falling harder and faster than i thought. making our way down the hill, across columbia blvd past an abandoned car slid into the ditch and others sliding, across the train tracks with a train coming in the distance and onto the nature trail was slower going than i thought. and much less of a good idea. i took my camera out from under my coat for only a few minutes, but it quickly became too soaked and foggy to get a clear shot, or even see the screen to check. i was afraid the snow would get so deep that even the bugaboo would get stuck and my poor pup would get frostbite, so we gave up the walk and hustled home.

this was taken once we got through the door and took off our coats. and since i thought my camera was ruined anyway, i thought i'd just keep snapping until it died. which, luckily, it didn't. it seems to be just fine after slowly warming up and getting a wipe-down. the condensation between the UV filter and the lens gives this shot a dreamy quality.
