Philanthropy

I work at a non profit which acts as a liaison between volunteers and over 1600 Dallas/Fort Worth area non profits. We help provide support to people looking to volunteer, be it individuals, groups, corporations, or even those with community service hours mandated by the court. We also work with agencies to help them manage their service projects and find the volunteers they need.

Today, we helped manage a 1200 volunteer project for employees of Sherwin Williams. They helped re-paint the facilities of 12 agencies around Dallas. I helped manage 40 painters at a new day care center for the elderly in South Dallas called Celestial Haven Community Development. It was very rewarding to see how happy they were to have us out!

The building is so new it doesn't even have light fixtures yet, so the Sherwin Williams volunteers were mostly working in shadows! Clouds did not make for much natural light and I didn't bring enough halogen lamps!
