Last Minute Plans

I was supposed to meet wrperry at the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC this morning to take photos of the Jefferson Memorial.  But when I arrived,  the gates to the parking lot were locked up because the National Park Service is preparing for the Cherry Blossom Festival which starts next weekend.  

So I called wrperry and told her that we were going to have to change plans and recommended the Washington Monument.  We both were able to get there in time, park, setup, and see some color before the sun came up.  We shared this view with a couple of ducks and probably 30 other people (28 too many for me...).  

Thank you wrperry for meeting up and was glad you got to experience this! Maybe next time, we will get some light cloud cover with some fantastic colors and hopefully Suzanne and maybe even Wade will be able to join us!
