The Union Canal. Over 26 miles remain on the journey from the locks in Falkirk to the basin at Fountainbridge in Edinburgh (just over 31 miles). The 696 yd Falkirk Tunnel has been navigated, aquaducts are ahead, and there are numerous overbridges to negotiate before arriving in the city.
