Brougham Bridge.
We needed to pop out to the Lodge to drop off some wood for a maintenance project I have to start. So we detoured by Brougham as we haven't visited since Storm Desmond.
Desmond so weakened one of the arch supports that the bridge had to be closed. It stood untouched for so long we were worried that it would never reopen. Finally they started to repair it. It finally opened late last year.
The repairs must have cost a fortune! As you can see there has been some rather fine stone work carried out on top of the reinforcing. The aerial views of the river on Google show the river as hardly flowing under one arch and land with grass on blocking it. Whether the flood took the land or not isn't clear but it now has free passage under both arches.
