………………………Praying Mantis


This mantis is endemic to NZ.

It is easily identified by a vivid blue and purple patch on the inside of its front leg and with a thorax that is broad and flat and nearly the same width as the abdomen. 

I have added an extra photo showing this mantis in profile and looking inquisitive.
