Three nights, two days is not enough time in Venice, even in the rain! But still bargain flight buyers cannot be choosers! Two thumbs up for Sleazy Jet who were helpful AND efficient!

The hotel staff seemed a little surprised to see us at 7am sharp, to be fair I was more than a little startled myself!

In spite of almost being drowned in our beds* after the Flood Sirens were sounded just before high tide at 11 pm-ish on Sunday we made it to our plane in quick smart time via the water bus and airport boat, even with the snow!

Found the locals lovely and helpful, did not get ripped off or have or life savings extorted for two double Espressos and a Cannoli!

Also did not get chance to practise any of my school girl Italian, which is probably just as well, but we did get asked loudly and slowly for directions! They were surprised we were British, but not surprised we did not know the way back to S. Marco... I hope they made it!

*slight exaggeration... I heard a very tuneful siren as I got out of the shower, presumed it was TheMr for faffing with his phone, we then pondered if we should do anything, decided against it and made it through safely to breakfast!
