So Mrs B’s father is Orcadian. And his grandfather was something of a photographer around the turn of the 19/20th century. Enough of a photographer to have a collection of his work archived at the Orkney library as it happens.

So I got to browsing their website during a lull in proceedings while I was serving notice at the last job and then rang them to have a bit of a chat about what there might be in the collection of a family nature. It turned out quite a lot and birthday gifts were selected and purchased.

So here are Mrs B’s great aunts channeling the Shining and her grandfather with a cockerel on his head.
