Civic Pride

A long way to go for a meeting this afternoon.

I arrived at Euston and decided to walk. Cut through the Kings Cross area and then along the Regents Canal (extra), turning off just before the Islington Canal Tunnel (the entrance visible in the extra) towards Upper Street.

London really does feel like a foreign country these days. Familiar and yet unfamiliar.

I expected the meeting to be interesting, but it was a lot more interesting than I had anticipated. A lot of food for thought.

The blip is of the meeting venue - Islington Town Hall. A fine building both inside and out, and maintained with some pride. A large sculpture inside of a 16th century local worthy looked remarkably like local MP Jeremy Corbyn.. Except the figure was wearing breeches.

Upper Street in front of the building is also the A1. The Great North Road, as I knew it in my youth.
