Smile, it could be worse.

It's sad that signs like this need to be bandied around in post-quake Christchurch, but given the new emphasis on rapid "town planning", particularly of historic building, its hardly surprising.

I spotted this 'Do Not Demolish' notice on the commute down Durham St a long time back but today was the day I finally got to blip it. The juxtaposition of child-like primary coloured footprints and a serious notice made me smile.

The thing I've never noticed at 50km/h before though is the wee tigger to the left holding the 'Smile, it could be worse' sign. With optimism like this, you can definitely say that Tiggers are indeed wonderful things.

The Christchurch Press should take note - we need good news stories! Let's celebrate optimism !
