Leaf ghost

I love looking at these delicate outlines of leaves. The moisture from fog and rain causes newly-fallen leaves to cling to the pavement. During this damp embrace, residues from the leaves are transferred to the ground. Dark stains are left behind as the only evidence of their brief encounter, once the dried husks are blown away.

I call them leaf ghosts.
