Stag's Horn

I thought I'd round off my little fungus foray with another stagshorn fungus - Xylaria hypoxylon. Its perhaps more commonly known as candle-snuff fungus. The fruting body is either branched towards the top or non-branching - when the candle-snuff name seems more appropriate. Both forms are on this rotting tree stump.
