Yvré-l'Évêque
Tonight and tomorrow we are at a campsite at Pont Romain, Yvré-l'Évêque. Unsurprisingly, the site is adjacent to a Roman bridge. The bridge still takes (single file) traffic. We walked over it today, a somewhat hazardous undertaking, and I marvelled at the tarmac road surface literally heaped on the old cobbles.
Yvré-l'Évêque itself commands little interest but does at least sport two boulangeries (thankfully, as the first that we found was closed today). The restaurant provision is rather less exciting,
The best news as far as I am concerned is that I have a load of washing on at last. Huge sigh of relief on that matter.
Spring is rather more advanced here and the temperature today has been well above zero. It is good to feel warm again.
We found this little public garden hidden in town. There was little in bloom but a single patch of brave daffodils nodded their heads in the breeze. Good to see.
Saumur beckons after this. I like Saumur very much and am looking forward to our return. Maybe this time we will get that Moroccan meal.
