First day of spring?

The Vernal Equinox took place today, and I have to say that it certainly felt like spring when I left the house early afternoon to go in search of a blip before work.   I went to Gunknowe Loch where this swan came racing towards me and got out of the water to have a closer look.  I’m not sure if he/she thought my camera was edible or if perhaps I was a long lost relative, but I had to back off just to get it in the shot.

They say that there can be a vast difference between the first day of spring and the first spring day, and I was reminded of this as I scraped the frost off my windscreen after work tonight!
