Unicorn

A lengthy series of Board meetings today. Some training for the Board and senior management team on diversity; an update from Jacqui Dunbar on the progress on Our Hearings, Our Voice (the young people’s board for the children’s hearings system); and, amongst other things a lengthy agenda for the public meeting.

As we bear the end of the financial year and head towards the start of the new one there are lots of papers to consider. Lots of work by the team and many decisions reached.

I then had a telephoned, conference and caught up with the inbox.

The day was brightened on 2 fronts. First, we celebrated the award last week to Beth - our Board member - who won the national award for youth participation. We had a unicorn rainbow cake. Makes a change from the caterpillar cake!!

Then, confirmation that, subject to an assessment, my aunt should get home at Easter weekend. It’s been a very long haul and we will hold our breath until it actually happens. But at last, after much correspondence, movement is in sight.
