Desperately thirsty ...is the state of the garden

...is the state of the garden  and I've had the bore hose sprinkling the vegetable garden and the citrus trees for the last 48 hours. The last of the season's roses  and dianthus are giving us beautiful colour in a droopy sort of way and from late afternoon the sky has grown ever more moody till 5 minutes ago and it's now bucketing down. Just heavenly ! Dr D suggests I might like to go out and turn the hose off...it can wait : ))
