Comedy Night
A great comedy night show at The Royal Albert Hall, on behalf of a tremendous charity. But it went on later than we expected, and we discovered that it takes quite a long time to get from there to Liverpool Street Station, consequently we missed the last train home.
Greater Anglia were very kind, endorsing our tickets to allow us to use them the following morning, on the first train. We made a decision to head out of the centre of London as far as Stratford, where (despite the heavy police presence) we fortunately found a hotel that could put us up for a reasonable price. Of course, we had nothing with us in the way of clothing changes, toiletries etc etc.
Unfortunately the room was poorly soundproofed, and the traffic noise disturbed our sleep considerably, along with the need to return to the station to catch the 0633 train.
To cap it all, the train got stuck behind a broken freight train for a while, and as a result of that presumably lost its slot in the schedules, getting later and later running. By the time we got to Norwich we were running 30mins late.
I was due to have an office day at work today, but as I had no specific commitments, I was able to cry off and will work on Friday instead.
Should you feel inclined to donate money to the TCT after reading about what W has called our "adventure", text 70500 to donate £5 - TCT will get every penny of your £5.
