We hold all the cards

So, another step in the avant garde, performance art project on the nature of nihilism and futility that is Brexit.

I’ve yet to compile a top ten of the stupidest and most delusional statements made by the leave side - how do you separate the one about trade deals being completed in an afternoon, from the one about the EU caving in to the demands of German car manufacturers?

But the stupidest of all was the idea that we ‘held all the cards’ in the negotiations - a fallacy finally shattered when the EU put down a royal flush, and we countered with a 2 of diamonds, Go to Jail and Mr Johnson the big fat liar.

Then we caved on absolutely all of their terms (again) and tried to pass it off as a triumph.

So, at what point do we accept that this is a complete shambles, and put a stop to it?
