Cotton Bud Fountain

I spent today in Manchester where I enjoyed lunch and some retail therapy with a very dear friend.    Whilst walking through St. Anne's Square I came across the Cotton Bud Fountain, marking the importance of cotton to Manchester.   Cottonopolis was a 19th century nickname for Manchester, as it was a metropolis and the centre of the cotton industry.
