New View

This was the most horrible job I have ever done! Not a very round hole, I admit, as the core drill loosened the surrounding brick.

Core drilling in a very confined loft space with an under-powered drill whilst being bothered by rudely awakened queen wasps was like a refinement of torture.

Every inch took an age and sweat was rolling off me as I laid wrapped in fibreglass. Had to rest the drill and myself every couple of minutes and took about an hour to get through.

The annoying thing was after all that effort, instead of ending up with a perfectly round, tight fitting hole I end up with this! Grrrrr.

It did occur to me that I must be the first person in the history of earth to gaze at the new view from this precise position.
