No, not really, but that’s what came to mind standing at the base of the former water tower in the old Glasgow Herald building in Mitchell Lane off Buchanan Street.

The 8,000 gallon water tank was the fire protection for the ‘hot metal’ print process of the time

Now part of the Lighthouse Centre for design and architecture the spiral stairway in the picture goes all the way to the top of the tower.
